I Get It From My Mama: Beauty Lessons
I Get It From My Mama: Beauty Lessons
By Kimberly SealsMother’s Day is just around the corner, which has us thinking about all the valuable lessons our Mothers taught us growing up. In celebration of the wonderful mothers and motherly figures in our lives, Elle Vie is dishing some Black Mom Magic beauty advice that melanated mothers pass on to their daughters.
Ashy is Never Classy
I don’t know about you, but my mother was the first person to warn me about the dangers of leaving the house ashy. And if you tried it, she would be ready with the vaseline for those ashy elbows and knees. Thankfully we’ve graduated from the vaseline days, but the sentiment still stands. You have to moisturize before you go so you can glow. To really make mom proud, keep one of Elle Vie's purse sized tin on deck because you never know when you’ll run into someone in need.
When you look good you feel good
Black Moms everywhere understand the importance of dressing up and showing out. Everything from the hair to the shoes are immaculate for that Mother’s Day brunch. That’s because moms know how looking your best can give you a major confidence boost and brighten your day. The first step to feeling and looking your best is taking care of your skin, so that you can feel good in whatever you’re in.
The Importance of a Signature Scent
Growing up, the women in my life all had their go-to fragrance. From moms to aunties to grandmas, you could recognize them on scent alone when they entered the room. Black moms know the impact of a signature scent and how it can exude comfort and love without having to speak a word. If you haven’t found your signature scent yet, don’t sweat it. Elle Vie has you covered with our sample set. Pick out a favorite one for you and one for mom (in a different scent of course).
Happy Mother’s Day from Elle Vie
We hope that you are celebrating the inspirational mothers in your life every day.
But if you want to show someone some extra love (and proof that you’ve taken her lessons to heart), consider sending the Mom(s) in your life an Elle Vie gift set. What are some of the valuable beauty lessons your mother taught you? Let us know in the comments.
