4 Ways to Start Your Day Right!

By Kimberly Seals

Sometimes the hardest part of starting your day can be, well, starting your day. On those extra cold mornings, it’s likely that the last thing you want to do is get out of bed and start a 15 step morning routine. If your snooze button could use a break, here are 4 simple things to get your day off to the right start.

1. Center Yourself

Instead of starting your day off by reaching for your phone or mentally cataloging yout to-do list, try getting in touch with yourself. Starting your day off in a positive headspace can do wonders for how you approach the day.

You could take the first 5 to 10 minutes of your day to journal about your thoughts, take some deep mindful breaths, listen to a song that always puts you in a good mood, or whatever else makes you feel connected to you.

2. Get Excited

One thing that can make it harder to start your day is if you’re not excited about anything the day brings. For an extra boost of motivation, try making time for things that get you excited first thing in the morning.

It could be trying a new breakfast recipe or stopping by your favorite coffee shop during your daily commute. Whatever it is, make sure it’s something that ignites your passion.

Even if you’re not a fan of doing things early, you can get yourself excited by starting your day earlier to make space for your favorite activities in the evening.

3. Aroma Therapy

Scent is one of our most powerful senses. And it’s a great way to get going in the mornings. Indulging in your favorite scent can instantly boost your mood and bring you back to cherished memories. And if your favorite scent happens to be one of Elle Vie’s you can apply it in the morning and enjoy it throughout the day.

Get creative with how you utilize scents. You can try citrus or cinnamon scents in the morning to get you feeling motivated and calming scents like lavender to support a good night's rest.

4. Be Kind to You

Let’s face it, despite our best efforts, hard days happen. But a sure fire way to turn a bad day worse is to be hard on yourself. It’s important to practice self love and self care when we’re feeling our best because the hard days are when we need that extra care most.

The best way to start your day is always by celebrating yourself for showing up and being you in every capacity.
